What is the cost to join CAP IT Tampa?
Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors: $90 (discount applied for multiple students)
(What's included:  Underclassmen)
Seniors: $255 (What's included: Seniors)
8th Grade: $70 (What's included: CIT MIDDLE)

Do I have to sign a medical release and waiver?
Yes, anyone participating in CAP IT events is required to sign multiple waivers. 

EVENTS/ACTIVITIES:
Are the member activities and events mandatory?
Not all activities are mandatory, but we hope you will attend as many as you can.
Just as you would in a public or private school, events are intended to promote connection and fun with others. You'll graduate with people you know, not strangers.

How many member activities will there be?
Events are scheduled monthly from August through May each year. Extra events are added throughout the year with as much notice as possible. See Event calendar

Are planned events/activities an extra cost?
There is no cost to attend any mandatory events/activities. Other activities may
cost extra, but we try to keep out-of-pocket costs very low by taking advantage of group prices and special deals.

Can I bring a friend or date to any of the events?
Except for homecoming and prom, all activities and events are for members only unless otherwise posted. 

When are the mandatory meetings? 
We have mandatory meetings throughout the year:
Kick-Off event for ALL members
Sunday, October 1, 2023, 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Senior/Parent Graduation meeting:
Fri, November 03, 2023, 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM OR
Tue, November 07, 2023, 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM

SENIORS & GRADUATION FAQ:
When will the graduation ceremony take place?
Friday, May 17, 2024 at 5PM-7PM, Grace Family Church, Lutz, FL.

When will rehearsal and graduation schedule/timeline be available?
We will review the graduation schedule at our MANDATORY Senior/Senior Parent meeting in November (Meeting Option 1 - November 3, 2023 or Meeting Option 2 - November 7, 2023).

How much does graduation cost? The cost to participate in graduation is $255. See what's included here: Costs

Do I have to pay it all up front?
No. All participants need to pay non-refundable registration fee to secure a spot in the ceremony. 
The remainder will be due on or before January 31st of your graduation year.

What if I need to cancel being a part of graduation?
If you need to cancel, you will get a full refund of any monies paid (minus membership fee) if CAP IT is notified prior to March 1 of your graduation year. If you cancel between March 1 and April 21, you will receive a $100 refund. After that, $0.

When is the last day I can register for graduation?
April 1st of your graduation year 

Does CAP IT Tampa give me a diploma?
We will ONLY provide a keepsake diploma, as CAP IT Tampa is NOT a certified school with the state of Florida and has no power to officially grant a diploma of graduation. It is the responsibility of the student's parents or umbrella school to determine eligibility for graduation and to certify the high school education. How many guests can I have at graduation?
We will advise at the Parent/Senior meeting in November.

Is there a dress code for the ceremony?

Am I responsible for buying a cap and gown? YES!

Can I choose the color of my cap and gown? YES!
Show your personality and preferences with your cap, gown, tassel, and cords/stoles. You can also decorate your cap if you'd like to. For helpful links: Resources

Is it possible to buy a cap and gown used or to rent/borrow one from a previous graduate?
It's possible. Just REMEMBER you will need a tassel with your graduation year on it.  The year can be purchased separately.

Can I participate as a senior for events but not walk for graduation?
Yes, you can do that. For options and membership, click here.

Can I only participate in graduation and not events?
Yes, that is possible. To discuss please email us or text us at 813-540-1620.

PARENTS/VOLUNTEERS:
Can parents/guardians be involved during the year?
YES! We need Parent volunteers  and chaperones for larger events. See exactly what we need from parents here: Parents
